Onyx Christopher

Game Designer/Programmer

Hi!

I design games. Coding unique, optimized systems and refining designs are what I enjoy most. Replayability, flow, and a balanced game pace have always fascinated me as a player, and I bring that same passion and knowledge to the games I create.

I love solving think-out-of-the-box puzzle games, conquering gruelling tests of skill, and leading my team to victory through competitive multiplayer battles.

PROJECTS

Crystal Flight (2025)

Crystal Flight is a 3D, first-person flying game designed to showcase a unique gliding mechanic. The player must collect crystals, accumulating speed by diving and regaining height by flying through geysers. The goal is to simulate the natural experience of a glider while providing the fun of a sudden lift into the air.

Astral Drone Quest (2025)

Astral Drone Quest is an action-adventure retro arcade game set in outer space. Players are invited to guide their drone between planets to recover artifacts which have been captured by enemy forces.

The game creates engaging complexity from simple mechanics by combining three genres: space exploration, resource management, and action combat. This was a solo final project at university, created in Unity, with original design, code, art, and animation.

Spire of Light (2024)

Spire of Light is a stealth-puzzle platformer set in an abandoned building occupied by evil robots. While avoiding detection, the player moves through fifty floors of the tower, acquiring powerful abilities which help them destroy the enemy robots, to reach the roof and shut down the communication tower.

Early levels are designed to introduce the new powerup mechanics and provide the player with a chance to practice before needing to combine skills in later, more challenging levels. This was a 4-person team project, created in Unity, based on my design with collaboration on programming, animation, and sound.
